Light is your friend, and your enemy ! Your scope sucks in photons from the heavens but also from your location and surroundings.

Depending on your location, stray light and pollution can affect your observing. Light dense locations such as cities will make it harder to view deep space objects (DSO)

You can check your light pollution/Bortle scale using the map below. If you’re in a light dense area dont let that put you off, there is still much to see!
